The Origin & Development of Jersey Law

Stephanie Nicolle read English at Durham University and graduated with first class honours in English Language and Literature.  Returning to Jersey she joined the Judicial Greffe as a law trainee.  She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1976 and the Jersey Bar in 1978.  In 1982 she joined the Law Officers\' Department as a Legal Advixer, and was subsequently appointed a Crown Advocate.  She held the office of Solicitor General from 1994 to 2008.  For some years she was a member of the Editorial Board of the Jersey Law Review (now the Jersey and Guernsey Law Review).  She is the co-author, with Paul Matthews, of The Jersey Law of Property.  She is currently working on outline Guides to the Law of Succession and the Law of Immovable Property.
