Cider making was a major industry in Jersey in the past, and a considerable quantity was exported to England. A great many varieties of cider apple were developed during this period, but few remain today. After the Great Storm of 1987 a group of people set out to find those that had survived and, using graft wood from them, to create an orchard in order to study them.
This book contains the results of those studies, with each variety illustrated and described in detail.
