Eleventh Joan Stevens Memorial Lecture

The Channel Islands and the Courts of Westminster from the Fourteenth to the Sixteenth Centuries

Tim Thornton

Delivered 9th September 2016

Following her death in 1986 the Joan Stevens Memorial Lecture series was established to celebrate her magnificent contribution to wide-ranging studies of Jersey's history, and to keep fresh the memory of a Jerseywoman passionate about her beloved homeland.  The lectures have continued to delight audiences with many different topics relating to Jersey, and in September 2016, as a precursor to the Channels Islands Mediaeval History Conference held by the Société Jersiaise, Professor Tim Thornton, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield, delivered this the eleventh lecture, entitled The Channel Islands and the Courts of Westminster from the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries.
